Jennifer Kaufman has exhibited work at White Columns in New York, d.e.n. Contemporary Art and Pharmaka Gallery in Los Angeles, the 808 Gallery at Boston University, and at Bay Area galleries including the Headlands Center for the Arts, Ampersand International Arts, Berkeley Art Center, and Southern Exposure.
Recently, Jennifer's work was nominated for the 2014 American Academy of Arts and Letters Invitational Exhibition of Visual Arts and she was a semi-finalist for the 2014 Pro Arts 2x2 Solos Award. In 2012, Jennifer's drawing, Utterance Upon Utterance, was selected for the cover of Judy Halebsky's book of poems, Space/Gap/Interval/Distance. In 2010, she was nominated for a SF MOMA SECA Award and in 2009 she was awarded Prizewinner for the Creative Arts Workshop National Competition in New Haven, CT (Janet Echelman, Juror). Jennifer's drawings are included in the Viewing Program at The Drawing Center in NY, in private collections and have been selected as cover images for many book publications including Linda Dyer's Fictional Teeth, (Ahsahta Press), and Noelle Kocot’s, The Raving Fortune, (Four Way Books). Her work has been reviewed in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Boston Globe, Art Practical, Art Week, San Francisco Bay Guardian, and Modern Arts Journal.
Jennifer has a B.A. in Studio Art from Wellesley College and an M.F.A. in Drawing and Painting from California College of the Arts. She has developed exhibits for The San Francisco Exploratorium Museum of Art and Science, taught in the MFA program at California College of the Arts and was an artist in residence at the Vermont Studio Center.
